Well, a few years ago Dad bought a 1973 Galant and started racing, But then he wanted a lighter car. He picked up a rust-bucket LA Lancer and over 4 years of week-end work turned it into what's in the pics.(No build pic's as I only took the one's here today and it's on the hoist so taking pics was difficult.

It's got a 2.6L sigma engine, twin 48mm DCOE webers, (Also a custom made Fuel Injection set-up, going to be tested when it's 100% finished), 4:1 Extractors to a 2 1/4" side exhaust.

Engine has been run-in on a rolling road, but hasn't seen the track yet. Should be out late next year some time.

Alot more stuff but I'm sure you'd rather see pics.

And if you're wondering, My last name is Footner, all modifications were done by my dad, and over 90% were on a manual Lathe or Mill.

Wow, awesome car! I had no idea you meant a 1971 Lancer, pretty damn cool. Very well built too. Looking forward to seeing this on the track one day!

I went to see this car the other day, and it is very clean and neat for a track car or even a road car. The detail under the car in the suspension and diff is amazing!

Haha!, Well 20 years ago when it was built, they dyno'd it and it was the fastest 4 cyl South Australian car they'd ever dyno'd. So, It should go alright, But now theres bigger and better, don't know how competitive it'll be.
