Ok so about 4 months ago I got bored with my Subaru Liberty and reinstated my love with Gemini's. I sold the Subaru and bought a what was advertised as a TG wagon which actually turned out to be a TF panelvan. It's now known as the TG/TF Panel Wagon. From what I can see it used to be a white TF but it has now been painted silver and had a TG front and bars put on it. I like the combo with the earlier style dash and mirrors with TG front.

The car was going great until recently. It made it up to the Clare Valley a few times, down to Cape Jervis and back and even got out on the May cruise. The night before last I was driving home from the city when the normal tick of the motor turned into quite a loud knocking sound. So today I pulled the coupe out of the shed and rolled the wagon in pulled out the motor and discovered that cylinder 1 was rooted. There was also quite a large amount of carbon build up on the internals.

Now is as good time as ever to put a G200 in her and put all the sexy bits left over from the coupe's motor. I have a G200 bottom end organised to pick up during the week and hopefully I will have her running by the end of the week.

Final specs will be:

G200 Bottom End
G161 Head
Stage 2 Crow Cam
32/36 Weber
Lightened + Balanced Flywheel
Heavy Duty Clutch
5 Speed Gearbox

Pics of the progress will be up tomorrow night and I'll take some decent shots when the car is running again.

Cheers

Mitchell

If it has the earlier style dash then its pobably a TE as the TG & TF came with the same dash.

I thought that the TF had the early dash and then changed midway through production (probably when they ran out of the old ones). Also it has TF on the compliance plate and the rego...

Ok so i have spent the last two days and nights in the shed putting together this frankenstein motor out of all the effed motors I have in the shed and dropped it in the wagon. To my absolute disbelief the bloody thing started first go with NO and I mean NO hiccups! Even the timing wasn't too far off. I ran it for about 20 min before taking it for a drive to see if it would all explode on me but sure enough it was fine. Took it for a drive and it goes much better than the old 161 that was in there. The 5 speed that I put in it is a bit more crunchy than I remember but that might just be because it sat dry for quite a while. Really not looking forward to pulling the whole lot out again anytime soon so hopefully she comes good!

Pics up tomorrow... Maybe

Cheers

Mitchell

I pulled up to work yesterday afternoon and thought the wagon looked so good in the afternoon light I couldn't resist pulling out my iPhone and taking some shots. So here are the pictures I promised over two weeks ago. :D

Yeah would worth it I think. Mine don't rub but they definitely would if I lowered it. There are marks on the tyres from the previous owner scrubbing the guards.
