I tried to get my tacho dash installed before the nats this year, but it was either DOA or not compatible with the signal I was feeding it (I think DOA). So I dropped it off to gaugeworks who fitted a new after market control PCB in it, driving the original electrical needle. It seems quick to respond, accurate and happy to be fed from the EFI 8-)

Cool. That's what they said they could do to mine to make it work with the sr20. $150 I think?

Yep, thats the one! They say really low level signal up to something with a decent amount of kick, coil + or coil -, will work from all of them.

That's a pretty good option there. Nice work!

* well no unknown problems.... there is still a problem with the starter signal that doesnt make it through to the solenoid and there was the alternator bearings that sounded horrible but a new alternator sorted that and I swapped in a new(er) starter while I was at it. But those things were known
