That looks excellent. I (paid for) an engine rebuild to a stock engine just with extractors in my 1st gemini many years ago now, and loved it. A good G161z and a good nikki carb certainly does the job and does it well. They rev real nice too. Will be a blast once its run in. Good stuff! Love the factory look with good paint too. Thats quality right there.

Looking great, hope you have better luck than the last one. I'm still surprised the old one was so much trouble, my drift engine was rebuilt in half the time for half the money and never missed a beat til it threw a timing chain after a few years! Hopefully this one serves you well.

Had an issue with the carby and the secondary not closing at the same time as the primary! After a while of mucking around (and thanks to cam for a spare carby to examine) I find out it was a not so springy spring! So the beast is up and running beautifully! Also got my hands on a set of idf webers and a manifold, so they might go on soon to give the standard motor a little kick! Also have entered the Motorkhana event up at monarto on the 10th Of march hopefully how some of the mg boys how the Gemini does it!!

Havent updated in a while! So the good old 1600 was going great guns was loving throwing it around! Then Cam (Cazz) decided he should sell his gemini's, well eeing the build of that motor got me excited and the power it had made me more excited so next thing you know its sitting in my engine bay! and man is it quick! Car is entered in a track day on the 31st of september so I have a deadline
So whats left to be done!
-Tune the motor so she runs sweet
-put semi slicks on set of dragways
-get new seatbelts
-Make up brackets to run my race seats
-put cross member back in after bushes are finished
-new shocks up front as well
-install new brakes that are in the post somewhere
Big ish list and with uni commitments time is running out but it will be done!
Ill get some pics up!!

That's awesome. Yeah Cazz's old engine had a tonne of oomph. Btw, there's someone selling a full set of 15x8" +20 "Work style" mags on Gumtree with new semi slicks atm, someone get on it! I reckon the tyres are worth that, and that's good fitment on a Gemini.
