Did a quick check the sarvo. Pulled the rocker cover off and turned the motor by hand everything moved freely. However, the cam did not! The cam sprocket does which probably means the dowl on the cam has snapped therefore it does not turn the cam just spins without it!! Not cool, motor will come out and probably go in the bin and I'm building a stock g161 that way it is stock standard and reliable!! This motor has caused nothing but problems...oh well shit happens I guess!

Sure it's snapped? Might have just worked it's way free of the cam and just needs tapping back in (the wagon did this), in which case it only needs a new head and gasket... only that...

I have a couple of stock 161s to suit rebuild you can have for nothing, but I'm pretty sure you already have one yeah?

New engine done and running beautifully!!
Details
Standard G161z all painted and looking fancy
Standard nikki carby too
im going for reliability hence everything is as stock as a rock
Although its not as slow as i was thinking it was going to be! havent put the boot in it yet as i havent finished running it in completely but i really dont think i have lost a heap of power after removing the G200z which makes me think that it was obviously struggling!
Anyway i am glad to have it out and out of my mind and shed!! was sick and tired of it braking something weekly and never running properly, now i have reliability and smoothness its amazing!!
So my first ever engine build from ground up all on my own with my mate and we did a pretty good job even my uncle (retired mechanic) was impressed and he definitely is not easily impressed!!
