Since we're all doing little things here and there to tidy up the forum's structure, I'll start this one nice and early.

So, as we're running with a quarterly format for the coming year, it would make sense to have the same meeting place for each one. The last one was at the North East Road Bunnings carpark, which worked out GREAT (plenty of space to ourselves, fairly easy to find and access), but whether or not we want to continue using it in the future is up to everyone.

As far as routes, I'm adding a poll to accompany everyone's opinions, although I ask that if you have no intention of attending, to please not vote so it stays accurate. From there I'll knock up a general idea of what roads we'll use etc...

Remember, this also serves as an oppotunity for us to gather on a face to face basis, to discuss any club/forum related topics, and to just talk about cars outside the computer screens. As much as high numbers of Geminis is good, high attendance in general is just as important, so if your Gem isn't running on the day, feel free to tag along in something else/passenger with somebody.

Cheers,
Ethan

EDIT - Details for Sunday the 25th of March:

Meet at 3pm in the Maccas carpark on the corner of Anzac HWY/Morphett Road

Head down Anzac HWY to Glenelg, turn right onto Tapleys Hill Road
Head down Tapleys past the airport
Turn Left at Burbridge Road and head down towards Seaview Road (Stop here briefly line the leisure club carpark we've used in the past, good size and view for a short regroup)
Head down Seaview Road, crossing over onto Military Road
Head down Military Road, Turn onto the Semaphore Esplanade from Bower Road
Stop at Semaphore for pics, food etc.

I vote beaches, actually. Everyone knows I'm a hills buff, but 'tis the season. Hills are great in spring/autumn. In summer, the place to see, and be seen, from a club (and, erm, scenery) perspective, is the beach. Plus, we'll get killer pics. Also, some people's cars may not appreciate uphill in summer!

As for the meet spot, I suggest we have one landmark meeting spot that's North-ish, and one landmark meeting spot that's South-ish, and alternate depending on the destination. This keeps it simple, but fair. If we've tried and tested the North-East spot, I propose that the second meeting spot be South-West. We could (for old time's sake) opt for the back carpark at Coles/Kmart Anzac Hwy. It's been a few years since I've done a Gemini cruise there. However, that's pending it's still suitable. There's usually a ton of space, although I would wonder about Saturdays a little more. I'll try to scope it out..

I've been learning the hills around the North East area recently and to my surprise there are some FANTASTIC roads! I'll make a route on google maps and show you guys. It doesn't have to be used, but it can be a nice cruise for the next time we use the North East meet spot and want a hills run.

Cazz, I love the northeast hills, I frequent them in the box (red R31 daily/tow car). What colour's your Gem? I'll have to keep an eye out ;)

Gorge, Lobie, Woods, and Lofty... sounds like a fairly average night of driving for me :P

I'm actually going to vote for beach as well. As nice as hills are, even I get tired of them after a while.

I vote for CBD.
Have a few laps of the city, maybe a stop at Glenelg via Anzac Hwy and then back up, few laps around North Adelaide, maybe a lap up The Parade at Norwood and back and finish at the Botanic Gardens?

I think more driving. Last cruise was wicked, but only racked up like 40-odd kays. The frequent laps around the CBD and outer metro area's might put the club 'out there' and get people talking about "all tha sick Gemi's they saw" cruising on Facebook to their friends. Abiding by road rules and such without hooning will also make the club look more mature, instead of a bunch of dickheads in loud cars driving like fuckwits.
